AOD-9604 is a synthetic analogue of the C-terminal region of human growth hormone (residues 177–191) with a tyrosine added at the N-terminus. It was developed to isolate the lipolytic domain of hGH from its growth-promoting and insulin-antagonising actions.

In obese mice, chronic AOD-9604 administration increased fat oxidation and reduced body weight without affecting food intake or inducing insulin resistance 12. Metabolic studies in ob/ob mice reported increased lipolysis and reduced lipogenesis in adipose tissue 3.

At a glance

  • Lipolytic hGH domain, no IGF-1 elevation reported in rodent studies
  • Studied in ob/ob and diet-induced obesity models
  • 5 mg and 10 mg vials
