Kisspeptin-10 is the C-terminal decapeptide of kisspeptin, the KISS1-gene product that acts on the GPR54 (KISS1R) receptor on hypothalamic GnRH neurons. It is the shortest fragment retaining full receptor activity and is the primary physiological trigger of the reproductive axis.

In the first human study, kisspeptin-54 infusion potently stimulated LH, FSH and testosterone release in healthy men, establishing kisspeptin signalling as a controllable input to the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis 1.
