AHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide L-alanyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, a structural relative of GHK-Cu.
In human hair-follicle and dermal-papilla cell cultures, the AHK-copper complex stimulated hair-follicle elongation and dermal-papilla proliferation, and inhibited apoptosis via increased VEGF and decreased TGF-β1 secretion 1.
